Legal Counsel, Opera Ads
We are seeking a commercially minded lawyer to join Opera’s legal team and support the continued growth of Opera Ads, our fast-growing global digital advertising business.
Based in Singapore and reporting to Opera’s General Counsel, this role will partner closely with sales, product, and business teams across multiple markets. The position requires a pragmatic legal advisor who can balance legal risk with commercial objectives in a fast-paced, international ad tech environment.
This is an opportunity to take on a highly visible business-facing role with broad exposure to commercial transactions, product support, regulatory compliance, and strategic business initiatives.
Role & Responsibilities:
Partner closely with the commercial and sales teams as a trusted legal advisor, supporting revenue-generating activities including contract negotiations, client agreements, and dispute resolution.
Provide legal support to the product and development teams to ensure access to compliant tools, technologies, and third-party services required for the growth of the Opera Ads platform.
Act as the primary legal business partner for the Opera Ads organization, ensuring efficient compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal group policies.
Deliver practical, business-oriented legal guidance with a strong commercial mindset in a fast-paced digital advertising environment.
Maintain regular communication and reporting to Opera’s General Counsel on key legal, commercial, and compliance matters.
Job Requirements:
Qualified lawyer with an active license to practice law; a U.S. law degree is considered a strong advantage.
Minimum of 5 years of relevant legal experience supporting commercial business operations.
Strong fluency in English, both written and spoken; native-level proficiency is highly preferred.
Experience in digital advertising, ad tech, technology, or related industries is strongly preferred.
Demonstrated commercial mindset with the ability to provide pragmatic, hands-on legal support.
